Big Sister
Friday, Evelyn got back from her Grandma and Grandpa Waite's house and got to meet her new baby brother for the first time. I was almost as excited for that moment as I was for Preston to be born. Andy made sure to video the whole thing and I am sure glad he did. Evelyn came in the house and at first she didn't notice him but the second she did she was all over him. She wanted to kiss him, hug him, hold him and just be right on top of him. She was so excited to see him. I still don't think that she fully understands who he is and that he is going to be with us permanently. She still kisses my tummy whenever I asked her where mommy's baby is. You can definitely tell that Evelyn loves her little brother so much, almost too much. I have to keep a close eye on her every time they are in the same room together. Yesterday in fact, Andy put Preston in his travel crib to sleep and a few minutes later we heard him crying and of course Evelyn was no where to be found. Turns out she had climbed into the crib and was sitting on him. I imagine she was just trying to play with him but she still doesn't get that she can hurt him. It's definitely been an experience these last few days getting used to having two kids instead of just one. It's even still weird to say that I have "kids" (plural). Evelyn will be such a great big sister. Right now it seems like her only objective is to crush him with love but I think she will definitely come around. Today I even saw her try to share one of her toys with him and at another point she gave him a high five. It's going to be very fun to watch them grow up together. Hopefully Evelyn doesn't pick on him too bad because with the size of his feet I have a feeling that he's going to pass her up pretty quick and might want a little revenge.

Preston Erwin Waite
After 41 weeks of pregnancy and 12 agonizing hours in labor Preston Erwin Waite finally made his big debut into the world at 8:52 a.m. on Tuesday August 21, 2007. Everything went considerably well and painless (thanks to my anesthesiologist) and Preston and I are both doing great. Both my parents and Andy's parents were there to keep me company while we waited which was reassuring and helped to make the time pass by. At birth Preston weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 21 inches long. He was fortunate enough to get his dads good looks and is the sweetest baby in the world. He has dark hair, blue eyes, and the longest little feet and hands I have ever seen on a baby. He's also quite the eater. Within minutes of being born he was ready to eat and picked it up instantly. It's been interesting getting used to having a newborn in the house again. It's amazing how much you forget in just a year and a half. I've definitely had to relearn how to do a few things but it seems to be coming back pretty quickly. I feel so blessed to have such a sweet baby boy. He is the perfect addition to our family and I can't wait to see what great things come from him in the future.

Happy Due Date to Me!....NOT
As most of you all know today, August 15th, is officially my due date BUT... in case your wondering, still NO baby! I've been having on and off contractions all day but nothing consistent. I've tried just about everything to cohearse this baby into coming out but with no such luck. I've even tried walking the past two days and ended up with nothing but sore legs. I definitely don't envy anyone that has ever gone over their due date even for just one day. With Evelyn surprising me and coming a week early I didn't have to experience any of this waiting around stuff. I didn't think it would be so hard. The anticipation is killing me (not to mention the aching body and the fact that he feels way too big now for my stomach). I think I may have a little mamma's boy on my hands that just doesn't want to let go. Oh well, I'm sure he'll come when he's good and ready and until then it looks like I'm stuck waiting it out.

My Husband the Film Maker
After two very long weeks of 12-16 hour days on the set, Andy is finally done shooting his very first official full length feature film entitled "Stamped". It's a movie that is similar in style to The Breakfast Club with 5 students who for one reason or another failed to complete a state test and must go in on a Saturday to complete it. After spending the day together each student (and the very comedic teacher) learns something about himself. It has an awesome cast of professional actors and actresses including, as Andy calls her, "Daytimes' Lydze Leatherman" from General Hospital, Matt Thompson, David Pires, Bryan Kubach, G. Lane Hillman and Katelyn Kate. For me it has probably been two of the hardest weeks I've ever been through only being home with Andy for an hour or two of awake time a day but we got through it and I'm proud to say that I am the wife of a Film Maker. It's been a lot of fun watching Andy get all excited about movie making, camera angles, equipment and certain shots that he now knows how to do. He seems to have picked up movie making like he's been in the business for years. Of course that's just how Andy is, he can be semi-interested in something one day and the next day he is an expert at it and not only does he know everything about it he's doing it and doing it very well. I have been so impressed with him these past few weeks learning all about the movie business and how to succeed in it. Most people spend a lifetime wanting to do something like create a movie and Andy just proved that it can be done in far less time. I am married to the smartest, most intelligent, sweetest, most awesome husband in the whole world. He excels in so many great things that every day I wish that I could be more like him in one way or another. I'm sorry to say that I give him a hard time about finances and chores but when it comes down to it he is a wonderful husband and father and I don't know what I would do without him. Unfortunately for him now he has to get back to "working" and hopefully he'll be able to finish the film before the Kern County Film Festival at the end of the year (which he is also on the committee for). It's going to be a GREAT movie and hopefully someday you'll see it on a shelf at your local Blockbuster or possibly in the nearest theatre. To read more about Stamped check out Andy's blog at http://birdloaf.blogspot.com or the newspaper feature it was in at http:// www.bakersfield.com/hourly_news/story/203569.html.

Movies, Movies, Movies
Being that I'm 9 months pregnant and can't even tie my shoe without great dificulty I haven't been able to do a whole lot except clean my house and watch movies; SO... needless to say I've watched quite a few movies lately. So many in fact that I thought I'd keep an updated list on the far right side of my page under the family pictures of the last 10 movies that I've watched. If anyone wants feel free to comment on any of them and/or make suggestions on what I should watch next. I'll pretty much watch anything as long as it's not scary or R rated. I really hope this baby comes soon because I'm afraid that I may run out of movies to watch.

Evelyn's First Play Date
I know what you guys are thinking, not ANOTHER blog about Evelyn but too bad I just can't help it! A few weeks ago I took Evelyn over to the Biglers' new house for her very first official play date with Brayden. I had a great time catching up with Stephanie and hearing all about their new house, Nathan's new job and everything that's going on with them & Evelyn and Brayden had a good time first playing inside with all of Braydens toys and then after putting on swimming suits and sunscreen they splashed around in the kiddy pool for a while. That Brayden is such a cute kid. He's going to be such a ladies man when he gets older. Those poor girls! And Evelyn, even though she's only a year and a half it's hard not to wonder what it's going to be like when she actually starts dating. I can just see it now. Andy is probably going to be quite the defensive dad and I'm sure he'll have no problem showing off his gun collection and his shooting ability to any and all of her dates before going out. If it were up to him she wouldn't start dating until well into her 20's (maybe even 30's). Luckily, I've got quite a while to get used to the idea of my little girl dating those stinky old boys and until then just hope she doesn't turn into one of those totally boy crazy girls when she's like 14.
